In 2006 the Thunderbird Balloon & Air Classic moved to the Goodyear airport, just southwest of Phoenix, and south of Glendale where it used to be held. It is now called the Goodyear Balloon & Air Spectacular. The City of Goodyear is title sponsor of the event this year.
About 100 balloons will be in participating in the Goodyear Balloon & Air Spectacular, including notable special shape entries of the Cactus Balloon, the flying Alpo can, and the ever popular Energizer Bunny. About 60 special shape and corporate balloons are expected to participate. Much more than just a balloon show, the addition of the air show is a definite crowd pleaser.
