I'm sure that there are many churches in the greater Phoenix area who are having Easter celebrations for their own congregation members and guests, but here the details about various Easter celebrations, mostly community events, where you and the kids can enjoy parades, carnivals, photos with the Easter Bunny, and Easter Egg Hunts. They are listed in date order.

Where: Great Arizona Puppet Theater, Phoenix
When: March 5 - March 23, 2008
What: Jack Rabbit helps the Easter Bunny deliver a basket to Arizona in Jack Rabbit & The Easter Basket. Preschool through 3rd grade. Show runs 10 a.m. Wednesday through Friday; 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets from $5 to $10.

Where: Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors' Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
When: Various types of performances between March 11 and March 22, 2008. English and Spanish-language performances.
What: The world's largest annual outdoor Easter Pageant. It is a musical production depicting the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Performed on the grounds of The Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors' Center. Parking is free.

Where: Sahuaro Ranch Park softball complex, 63rd Avenue and Mountain View Road, Glendale

What: Spring Extravaganza features photos with Mr. and Mrs. Bunny, egg hunt scramble, arts and crafts, candy and prizes, entertainment, family-style games and giant inflatable games. If you would like to enter the Egg Decorating Contest, bring a plain, hard-boiled egg; the decorating must be done on site. Children must wear socks to play in the inflatable games. Free. 9 a.m. to noon.

When: March 21 & 22, 2008
What: Easter Egg-Citment Easter Egg Hunt and Photo with Easter Bunny, hot dog lunch, train rides, carousel rides, inflatable bounce, giant slide and more. Cost: $25.00 per child, adults are free unless eating or going on any rides. Adults may pay as they go. Make a reservation, as space is limited.

What: Dolly Sanchez Memorial Easter Egg Hunt include candy hunts, carnival games, make-n-take craft activities, interactive games and vendors. 8 a.m. to noon. Food and some activities require a fee. Check schedule for Egg Hunt by age. Admission is free with a canned food item for donation.
