Where: Governor's Easter Egg Roll and Festival at The Wigwam, Litchfield Park
When: April 7, 2012. Breakfast 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Easter Egg Roll 9 a.m. to noon
What: Look to the skies at 8:45 a.m. as the Easter Bunny makes his grand entrance with Channel 3’s Bruce Haffner from his news chopper to enjoy Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Litchfield’s. Breakfast is $15 for adults, $7 for children ages 4-12. Funky the Chicken from Hickman’s Family Farms and Zizi from the Goodyear Ballpark will join the Easter Bunny to welcome guests and take photos with families. The Wigwam’s 2nd Annual Governor’s Easter Egg Roll & Festival starts at 9:30 with The Wigwam’s famous Easter egg hunt. There will be face painting, Easter egg decorating and healthy cooking demonstrations from Wigwam Executive Chef Lenard Rubin and a surprise guest chef. Guests are encouraged to dress in their Easter best for the Easter outfit competition. Children can participate in an animal encounter presented by Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium starting at 10 a.m. and live entertainment will be provided. Governor Jan Brewer, Hickman’s Family Farms and Hilgers Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics will be in attendance. While there is a charge for breakfast, the festival is free to attend.

What: Ireland: The 1916 Easter Monday Rising, A Historical Perspective.: Causes and Outcomes. A multi-media journey featuring live ballads, music, readings and poetry presented in historical context. Part 1 starts in ancient Ireland and is focused on the causes and events leading up to the 1916 Easter Monday Rising/Rebellion. Part 2 begins with a reading of Poblacht na H Eireann, the proclamation of the Irish Republic, follows the rising through Dublin and the rest of Ireland as it unfolded, and ends by examining the legacy of the Rising. Free, donations accepted.

What: The Audubon Center's Egg Hunt is great for children 12 and under. This is a fun and free way to celebrate Earth Month. Explore the habitat, scout out prize-filled eggs, learn all about nests and eggs, and make a "nest helper" to help birds create nests for their chicks. What: On Saturday enjoy a Family Breakfast and Photos with the Easter Bunny from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.; Kids’ Easter Cowboy Hat Decorating by the pool from 1 to 2 p.m.; and Willy Wonka Night at Coyote Camp from 6 to 9 p.m. (Charge for some activities.) On Sunday, the resort hosts complimentary Easter Egg Hunts at the River Ranch. At 9 a.m., children ages and under can search for eggs at Coyote Camp, while children ages 5 to 8 go on the hunt at 9:30 a.m. at Tombstone. Children ages 9 through 12 hunt for eggs at 10 a.m. at Coyote Camp. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the River Ranch will host a petting zoo for children with goats, sheep, chickens, bunnies, pigs and more.

What: Free with paid park entry ($6 per vehicle). Don't be late, it starts right at 9 a.m. sharp. It takes about three hours to hide over 2,000 candy filled eggs, but it takes 200 kids only about 10 minutes to clean them all up! There will be special eggs that can be redeemed for prizes. The hunt is open for children 12 years old and under. Bring a basket or bag for your candy eggs. Look for the Easter Egg Hunt signs, that will lead you to the Road Runner Campground play area, once inside the park. The Lake Pleasant Easter Bunny will be on hand for pictures with the kids.
