Celebrate Valentine's Day in Phoenix - 2009 (Continued)

There are many things that you can do and places you can go on February 14th in the Valley of the Sun, but these are specially designed for love and romance.

- Tempe's Kiwanis Recreation Center is the place for the Daddy Daughter Sweetheart Dance. For girls 8 to 14 years old and their dads (or other special man in her life). Music will fill the air, clowns will entertain, and there will be magic, games, crafts, and refreshments to enjoy. A framed memento photo will be created for each girl to take home. Registration required.

- The Singles Fair and Ball may just be the place where you kick start your love life if there's no one special to share Valentine's Day with this year. On Saturday, February 7, 2009 there's a Singles Fair with booths and workshops in the early evening, and then at 8 p.m. it's time to dress up for the Dress-to-Impress Ball.

- On Valentines Day 2009 Arizona Broadway Theatre presents Annie Get Your Gun, a musical comedy / Wild West show-within-a-show that tells of the ageless love story of sharpshooters Annie Oakley and Frank Butler.

- At the Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior, AZ you, your loved one, and even the rest of the family can enjoy the Language of Flowers Valentines Exhibit -- and Chocolates. Treat your senses while you learn the ancient code to the intricate language of flowers. Each year for Valentines day they fill the lecture room of the historic Smith Building with the fragrant, colorful Language of Flowers exhibit. Gourmet chocolates are available for purchase. February February 13, 14, and 15, 2009.

- Take a ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad on the Chocolate Lovers' Train. Suitable as a date or for a family, combine your love of the outdoors with the romance of chocolate. Advance reservations required.

- It might not be romantic, unless you are a basketball fan. It isn't every day that the NBA All-Star Game comes to town, and this year it is right in Phoenix, with events between February 13 and 15, 2009.

- The Scottsdale 5th Avenue Fine Art & Wine Festival is a place for you and your date to taste wines, listen to live musical entertainment, purchase gourmet food and chocolates, and browse the works of 125 juried fine artists. February 13-15, 2009.

- Vegas Variety Live at the Orpheum Theater will be the place for clean comedy and breathtaking magic. The show includes comedian Todd Oliver and his talking dogs, comic Chris Pendleton, and Master Illusionist Maverick. Proceeds benefit Arizona’s foster children. For every adult ticket purchased, one Arizona foster child will be able to see the matinee show. February 15

- Space 55 Theatre presents the Valentine's Day version of their popular "7 Minutes" series. “7 Minutes In Love” contains acts with themes of passion, sex and love gone horribly wrong. The audience will be treated to a random assortment of music, mayhem and merriment. If you don't like what you're watching, just wait 7 minutes! Please note - this show is not appropriate for children. February 7.

- The Peoria Chamber of Commerce presents Valentine Gala Ball at Trilogy at Vistancia (27980 N. Trilogy Blvd. Ste E101, Peoria). Dinner and dancing, no-host bar, dinner, raffles, giveaways. All proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Peoria 2009. Doors open 6 p.m., diner 6:45 p.m. $25 per person. February 7.
