• Opt for calorie-free Valentines! Tocaloma Spa at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix has the perfect Valentine’s Day gifts – cupcakes and chocolates without the calories! The spa’s Feeling Smitten cupcake bath bombs turn baths into fizzy, bakery-scented soaks. Large cupcakes are available for $11 and mini cupcakes are $6. The cupcake bath bombs are available in three scents: strawberry mint, vanilla lemon and hot mess, which is magnolia, pink hibiscus and peach. For chocolate lovers, Tocaloma Spa is offering Chocoholicks which are tasty, lip gloss pallets with four enticing chocolate-y shades coupled with the calming aromatherapy effect of the cocoa’s natural scent. $35.


• Enroll in the Valentine’s Day Muddle Mania class at deseo, the signature restaurant at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa. Join deseo’s Master Mixologist for “Muddle Mania” from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and learn the art of Muddle Drink-making at deseo’s Muddle Bar. Whether you have already enjoyed a Muddle Drink at deseo or looking for a new unique cocktail to call your favorite, you’ll leave with a new skill to impress at your next cocktail party. Available February 10 – 14, 2012.


• The Bakery Café at el Pedregal celebrates the Valentine’s Day holiday on Tuesday, February 14th with four desserts. Dessert selections include White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake: 9 inch round cheesecake with a strawberry swirl and fresh strawberries; Red Velvet Heart Cake: Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese filling and frosting with a Valentine’s Day design; Valentine’s Day Cup Cake: Lemon Raspberry Cupcake with Valentine’s Day Garnish; Chocolate Covered Strawberries: Long stemmed strawberries dipped in chocolate. Valentine’s Day desserts range in price from $1 to $18. February 11-13, 2012. Orders must be placed by February 9.


• Enroll in the Feast for the Senses Cooking Class at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North. You will hear, touch, smell, see and taste your way through the preparation, with the help of class volunteers, of a romantic menu consisting of Red Beet Carpaccio with Butter Poached Lobster, Asparagus, Black Mesa Goat Cheese, Passion Fruit Vinaigrette; Cocoa Chili Espresso Rubbed Rib Eye with Marsala Mushroom Demi, Sweet Crab Whipped Potatoes, Brown Sugar carrots; and Valrhona Soft Center Chocolate Cake with Candied Hibiscus flowers and Strawberry Sorbet. Take away gifts. Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Includes a celebratory welcome cocktail. $55 per person or $100 per couple.


• Fall in love all over again this Valentine’s Day while indulging in Tammie Coe Cakes romantic creations. Tammie Coe’s Valentine’s menu consists of cakes, cupcakes and cookie that are delicious as well as an artistic experience, using beautiful red, pink, white and chocolate colors in creative designs. The signature Sinsational cake is made with dark chocolate flourless cake and topped with candied red and pink hearts. Tammie Coe’s itty bitty lover’s cake is made from vanilla sponge cake, passion fruit custard and is covered in a red and pink striped fondant. The special Valentine’s Day menu also includes chocolate triple dipped strawberries made with white, dark and milk chocolate, a set of nine mini Ooey Gooey cupcakes made with pink butter cream and white chocolate sprinkles and the sweetheart cookie collection.


• Enjoy Valentine’s Day at the “Ladies Only” Valentine’s Day Fashion Tea by sipping on tea and watching a fashion show at The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix. Jeffrey Hattrick, Tea Maitre d', will be serving the delightful new tea menu paired with a Wild Rose White Tea. This is the first fashion tea of the season and you do not want to miss the vintage couture fashion from Fashion by Robert Black. The Valentine’s Day Fashion Tea is $38 per person. An additional $15 will have you sipping champagne all afternoon as well. Tuesday, February 14 at noon. Reservations required.


• Give your sweetheart a heart-shaped brownie from JJ's Brownies. My Cherry Amour and Raspberry Kiss are "Brownies with a Twist." My Cherry Amour is dark sweet cherries in a double chocolate brownie with brandy and white chocolate chips topped with Chocolate Ganache icing. The Raspberry Kiss is a classic raspberry brownie made with real raspberries and Raspberry di Amore, in a double chocolate brownie with white chocolate chips, then hand dipped in chocolate. Available in several different size heart shapes and a mini heart cake.


• Celebrating a quiet Valentine's Day at home? Meet her at the door with a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini, a Chocolate Kiss Martini, a Valentine's Crush or another romantic cocktail, recipes provided by some of our famous local chefs.


• The East Valley Lamplighter's Barbershop Chorus and Quartet Singing Valentines help you say "I love you!" They will deliver singing valentines across the East Valley, from Ahwatukee to Apache Junction, all day February 13 and 14, 2012. Two songs, a rose, candy and chocolates for $40. • February 14, 2012 is not only Valentine's day. It is also the 100th anniversary of our state. "Spend Valentine’s Day 2012 Falling in Love with Arizona all Over Again" at Fandango! Arizona. This grand affaire will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center, beginning at 5:30 p.m with cocktails and a silent auction. The story of Arizona’s 100 Years will be unfurled a quarter century at a time by special guest masters of ceremony Hugh Downs, Harvey Mackay, and Rex Allen Jr. The highlight of the evening will be a unique and special performance by the Phoenix Symphony. Dress is “Arizona black tie” which translates into bolo ties, cowboy boots, turquoise jewelry -- you get the picture. Tickets start at $250.

• Honey Moon Sweets in Tempe is making it easy to share the love with desserts made from scratch. Mini cakes, cookies, sweets and cupcakes, individual-sized desserts and cakes and pies are on their Valentine’s Day menu. • Sprinkles Cupcakes at Scottsdale Rd. and Camelback in Scottsdale will feature their seasonal XOX box, which is the perfect way to say "I love you!" The XOX box is available from February 3-14 and will include Valentine's Day favorites Red Velvet, Chocolate Marshmallow, Dark Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes, topped with edible XOX sugar decorations.


• Have a Goodnight Kiss at Stone Rose Lounge, Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. Snuggle by the fire pits at Stone Rose Lounge and steal a kiss underneath the Sonoran night sky. Indulge in a specialty dessert perfect for two, such as his and hers long stem chocolate-dipped strawberries ($6), double dipped chocolate biscotti with sugar rose petals ($6) or a trio of champagne sabayon, dark chocolate almond and candied oranges ($8). • Stop in at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, west of Phoenix, for Sweet Sensations. From February 1st through February 28th from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. you can sample two signature Valentine’s Day cocktails paired with homemade chocolate truffles for $20. The new favorite is the Red Velvet Martini, also known as "Kiss of Bliss."


• A Matchmaker’s Tennis Tournament will take place at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, west of Phoenix, on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 9 a.m. to noon. $20 per person, $5 for tennis members. Enjoy a round-robin mixed doubles tournament at The Wigwam’s nine-court tennis facility. Following the tournament, mingle with fellow players at a reception featuring appetizers and refreshments. Entry fee includes tournament, tennis balls and access to the reception. Reservations are required, call 623-535-4926.


• Ladies golf for free when they play a round with the special man in their life at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, west of Phoenix, from Saturday, February 11, 2012 through Monday, February 13, 2012. $99 per couple. Choose from the resort’s three parkland-style courses. Price includes cart, greens fees, access to the driving range and range balls. Tee times are available after 11 a.m. on Feb. 11th and 12th; and available anytime the 13th and 14th. Tee times are expected to fill up fast, so reservations are recommended.


• The Rim Lobby Lounge and Hershey’s Sweet Shoppe are making the holiday simple and decadent at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa with a bottle of Champagne and rich dessert pairing. The pairing includes one bottle of Charles de Fère Brut Champagne with a Frangelico Ganache Tartlet Heart with fresh raspberries for two for $45 per couple. Available on February 14, 2012 only, starting at 4 p.m. guests are invited to enjoy with a friend or loved one in the lobby lounge.

• Valentine’s Afternoon Tea at The Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix will be poured from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays in February in the Lobby Tea Lounge and features special chocolate desserts for the holiday. Biltmore Grand Tea is $36 and Biltmore Royal Tea, with Kir Royal or Mimosa, is $46. Tax and gratuity not included.


• Try the Cabana Romance Package at The Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. The special package includes a Classic Cabana at the Paradise Pool from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., a bottle of Taittinger Brut Champagne, a picnic lunch for two, a half-dozen chocolate-dipped strawberries, and a rose for her. $350.
