Phoenix Area Veterans Day Observances
Veterans Day in Gilbert
The event will pay tribute to veterans with music by a local high school band, recognition of veterans, speeches and the playing of taps. The public is invited to enjoy lunch after the ceremony.

Veterans Day in Scottsdale
Brigadier General Thomas Browning (Retired, United States Air Force) will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Veterans Day event in Scottsdale. General Dynamics will provide refreshments, and the 108th Army National Guard Band will play patriotic music. The official part of the program begins at 3:30 p.m. with the presentation of colors and the playing of the National Anthem.

Veterans Day in Surprise
The city of Surprise invites all veterans and the public-at-large to attend a special Veterans Day ceremony to pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of our military men and women and their families. There will be patriotic displays, a police and fire honor guard, speeches and songs.

Veterans Day in Peoria
The new Peoria Veterans Memorial will be dedicated. Coffee and refreshments will be served at 9:15 a.m., with the program beginning at 9:45 a.m. A ribbon cutting will follow remarks by Mayor Bob Barrett and others. Afterward, there will be tours of the memorial led by its architects.
