Mesa Veteran’s Day Parade
The parade will start at Center Street and travel from University to West First Ave, then west on First Avenue ending at MacDonald. The event will also feature a free outdoor concert by Mary Hoffman, antique military vehicles display by Wingspan, High School ROTC Exhibition Drilling, “Celebrate America” performed by Totality Musical Dance Theater.

Veterans Day in Phoenix
The public is invited to attend the annual Veterans Day Gourd Dance and Potluck at Pueblo Grande Museum from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to honor the memory of all Veterans who served our nation. Gourd Dancing starts at 11:30 am. Event is free and open to everyone. Bring your favorite potluck dish to share. No advanced registration required.

Veterans Day in Phoenix
Featuring nearly 100 parade entries, the VA Veterans Day Parade is a showcase of military and civilian marching units, color guards, military vehicles, equestrian units, floats, balloons, and bands. This year’s parade theme is "Home of the Free, Because of the Brave." This year’s Veteran Grand Marshals are those who have fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. Veterans' organizations, floats, bands, military vehicles, color guards, a military flyover and the US Airways Airplane Balloon “Dooey and the Do Crew” are also part of this family friendly activity. The parade travels north from the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center, beginning at Seventh Street and Montecito (north of Indian School Road) in Phoenix. The parade will turn west on Camelback Road, and proceed to Central Avenue, then turn north to Bethany Home Road, where it will end at North Phoenix Baptist Church. See photos from the parade!

Veterans Day in Phoenix
The Arizona Military Museum features a bi-plane fly-over at 2 p.m. and a period re-enactment including Buffalo Soldiers. Enter at the Papago Park Military Reservation.

Veterans Day in Tempe
Tempe will celebrate veterans with the annual Veterans Day Parade. The parade runs north on Mill Avenue from Gammage Auditorium to Tempe Beach Park. Tempe high school bands, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and the Tempe Fire and Police departments will be among the groups participating in the parade.

Veterans Day Dining Special - Scottsdale

Cost: Free dinner for veterans / military
Sassi pays a special tribute and say "thank you" to veterans and members of the U.S. military with a complimentary dinner on Veterans day 2009. All U.S. veterans and active duty military with proof of current or former military service will enjoy a three-course dinner free. Family members and friends are invited to attend, however only the person who served will receive a free dinner.

If attending one of these events is not convenient for you, communities all over Arizona will be having events to commemorate our veterans on Veterans Day weekend. Don't forget that many offices will be closed on November 11 in observance of the holiday.
