UPDATE: Phoenix Art Museum is no longer presenting the annual Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition and Sale. The last show was in 2010.

Phoenix Art Museum and the Men’s Arts Council have collaborated to bring a new event to the museum, The West Select.

The Cowboy Artists of America was conceived in 1965 in Sedona, Arizona. Phoenix Art Museum has hosted the Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition and Sale since 1973. The Sale, held the night before the exhibition’s public opening, was one of the Museum’s most successful fundraising events, attracting art collectors from around the world. There are more than 20 active members of Cowboy Artists of America, and each year they create new works depicting the the life of the cowboy. The Men’s Arts Council organized the event.
