Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, John Wake graduated from Arizona State University and went on to receive a Masters degree in agricultural economics from the University of Florida. John worked as an economist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C. and as an Agricultural Attache at the American Embassy in Paris before returning to Arizona in the early 1990's.
