Phil first dreamed of becoming a minister when he was 10 years old. Having served Arizona churches of all sizes since 1977, the Warings chartered north Scottsdale’s Chapel Bellavista in 2000.

A former youth pastor and hospital chaplain, new church planter and senior pastor, Phil has also been recognized for his leadership in the broader community. The Phoenix Jewish Federation selected him as an interfaith missionary to Israel in 1984. Phil was also enjoyed an inspirational and educational trip to Mediterranean Biblical sites led by Dr. Lloyd J. Ogilvie, the 61st chaplain of the U.S. Senate.

Listening to acoustic jazz is one of Phil’s greatest pastimes. A trumpet player himself, Phil’s most memorable performances involved playing taps at police officer’s funerals and “God Bless America” for a Make-A-Wish charity dinner.

A good day for Phil includes a little Bible reading, a look over the prayer chart to make sure his life is focused, and maybe a therapeutic drive down the nearby Carefree Highway. Phil has a blog at PhillipWaring.com and enjoys writing every day.

Phil is married to Gwen and she is the perfect marriage and ministry partner. Working side by side every day with one's best friend is such a blessing.

Phil graduated from Lincoln Christian College and also received a Master’s Degree from Hope International University. He can be reached at 480-575-7177.
