Chandler Parade of Lights and Tumbleweed Tree Lighting

The City of Chandler has a series of events to celebrate the season. They call it "Home for the Holidays" with three weekends of family fun, including the Chandler Parade of Lights and the Tumbleweed Tree Lighting.

Where is the Chandler's Home for the Holidays?

The Home for the Holidays events will take place in downtown Chandler, Arizona.

What will happen during Home for the Holidays in Chandler?

The first of the Home for the Holidays events will be on Saturday, November 28, 2009, with a day of skating (1 p.m to 9 p.m.), crafts and cookie decorating (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.), strolling Dickens Carolers (3 p.m to 6 p.m.).

The main attraction is the synthetic skating rink that will be set up outdoors within Dr. A.J. Chandler Park. Chandler families can enjoy this unique skating experience. Visitors will first want to stop by the skating rink to receive a free ticket for an assigned skate time. Skates will be provided for all participants.

When is the Chandler Parade of Lights and Tumbleweed Tree Lighting?

The second of the Chandler Home for the Holidays events is the Tumbleweed Tree Lighting and Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 5, 2009. The parade begins at about 7 p.m., and the Tumbleweed Tree Lighting will take place after the parade.

What kind of activities will there be at the Tumbleweed Tree Lighting event?

In addition to the parade, from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. there will be entertainment, food and beverage vendors and fun for the kids. Santa's House will be open during this time except during the parade. Bring your camera for a picture with Santa!

When is Holiday Marketplace?

The third and last event of Chandler's Home for the Holidays will be on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Vendors in downtown Chandler will be selling selling holiday-oriented gifts and downtown merchants offer specials. The Dickens Carolers will perform from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

How much will it cost to get in?

Admission to all Chandler Home for the Holidays events is free with a donation of a canned food item.
