Each holiday season Wildlife World Zoo opens the attraction after dark so that people can enjoy the holiday lights, which include about 100 animals created out of half a million colorful lights. It takes about 6,000 hours of volunteer time to create the holiday display.

Ten Things To Know About Wild Winter Nights
- You must pay a separate admission for Wild Winter Nights, even if you paid to get in earlier during the same day.
- Check the bulletin board at the admission gate to see if any new babies have been born. There's always something new to see at Wildlife World Zoo.
- Wild Winter Nights usually runs from the day after Thanksgiving through early January, but not necessarily every day of the week. Call before you go. 623-935-9453
- Is the carousel or the train ride critical to your visit? While you are calling, ask if there are any special activities that are closed.
- Many of the animals can be seen during this night time event. Don't be disappointed if some of them are sleeping or hiding, though. Don't miss the petting zoo.
- Even if the weather seems mild, dress for winter! It is always colder than you think it will be. Hats and gloves are appropriate. You can always peel off layers if it gets too warm.
- Need to warm up? Indoor exhibits like the Reptile House are open for Wild Winter Nights.
- Bring a flashlight. It will help you to search for animals, but please don't shine it in their eyes. The light will assist in navigating uneven walkways and occasional wires/holes/puddles. The map that is provided at entry isn't very useful in the dark unless you have a flashlight.
- Concessions are open during Wild Winter Nights, and there's usually one Wildlife Encounter show in the evenings. Check on the show schedule when you call.
- Wildlife World Zoo does not take credit cards.
