The library systems in Phoenix area cities and towns do much more than just lend books. You might be surprised at how many services they offer for free! Here are five ways you can save money by using the library.
Apache Junction Public Library
Located east of Phoenix at the base of the Superstition Mountains.
Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records
"In-depth research and reference services are provided in the subject areas of law, government, genealogy and Arizoniana."
Arizona State University Library
ASU has a law library, a music library, and the Hayden Library. ASU East and West also have libraries.
Avondale Library
"It is the responsibility of the library to promote knowledge and enrich the lives within the community by making available the best possible resources and library services. The library supports the principles of intellectual freedom for all citizens."
Chandler Public Libraries
Three libraries. There is an electronic newsletter that announces library events.
Glendale Public Libraries
Three libraries in Glendale "provide free and equal access to educational, informational, recreational, and cultural resources to each man, woman, and child in the community."
Maricopa County Library District
Operates two regional libraries, one in north central Phoenix and one in Gilbert. Also has community libraries in Fountain Hills, Guadalupe, Laveen, Litchfield Park, Queen Creek, Sun Lakes and Surprise.
Mesa Public Library
Three libraries serve the Mesa area.
Peoria Public Library
Two libraries to serve the Peoria community.
Phoenix Public Libraries
The City of Phoenix has 13 library branches around town. This Web site is also available in Spanish.
Scottsdale Public Library
Online resources and programs for all ages. There are four branches of the library.
Tempe Public Library
In addition to the traditional library pograms and services, you can read Ebooks online.
