The Wigwam isn't technically in either Scottsdale or Phoenix, but it is the only upscale resort on the west side of town, making it convenient to many venues like Phoenix International Raceway with its NASCAR racing, University of Phoenix Stadium for football and major trade shows, and Jobing.com Arena for hockey and concerts. Located in Litchfield Park, The Wigwam is just southwest of Phoenix.
The beauty of having four pools at The Wigwam is that you can have quiet pool time, separated from the more exciting water experience. From the 25-foot tower with two twisting water slides to the romantic, tucked-away Oasis Pool, there is a refreshing place just right for everyone.
Camp Pow Wow is a full-service seasonal activities program for children ages 5 to 12. Kids learn about local Arizona history, tour native plants and cactus, craft fanciful creations and traverse scenic trails. There is a small play-scape and children can also enjoy the resort's water features that include the water slide and dancing water fountain. Other activities include pool games, swimming, nature hikes, tennis tournaments, golf games and volleyball. Finally, if the summer heat doesn't bother you, try out The Wigwam's three 18-hole championship golf courses, two of which were designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, Sr.
On summer evenings, you might get an opportunity to enjoy seasonal concerts on the lawn, summertime Dive-In Movies by the main pool and wonderful brunches.
