The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch is a resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. One of its many special features is that there are plenty of summer water activities, just like going to a water park.
Spread over 2.5 acres of the resort property, the water playground includes 10 pools offering a variety of experiences for guests of all ages. The three-story waterslide emerges from the clock tower and spirals into an 8 ½ foot deep pool (must be 42 inches tall to use the water slide). Swim through a Grecian-style Water temple to play a game of water volleyball or enjoy a Jacuzzi-style spa or cold plunge, with more than 40 waterspouts raining down into the pools and spas, as well as on the deck to keep sunbathers cool. The aqueduct connects six of the pools so you can easily walk from one to another. The 12-foot high glass crystal column fountains are dramatically lit at night. In 2013 the resort introduced a new 30-foot, three-story tall waterslide.
For a quieter experience, try the 4,400 square foot adult-only pool, with the cascading waters of the Big Gun, a 20-foot high “thunderfall” that flows through an opening in a reflecting pool down to the swimmers below, or the softer Cascades, trickling over a three-level fall. Several “pools for two” let you feel as though you are in your own private water escape.
The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch has a sand beach -- the largest white sand beach in the area. Build a sand castle, then cool off in the adjacent beach pool. Wi-Fi service is available at the pool areas.
Camp Hyatt Kachina lets your child explore the flora, fauna, culture and geography of the area, with games and activities intermingled with learning experiences. Crafts, games in the water park, listening to cowboy storytellers, scavenger hunts, contests, learning about desert creatures...it's all part of the camp experience. Camp Hyatt Kachina is open to all children ages 3 - 5 and 6 - 12, and is offered daily, year-round. Golfers have a championship 27 hole course to challenge them, and adventurers will want to check out the various off-road experiences in the Sonoran Desert.
In the summer check the schedule for free weekend Dive-In Movies, free golf for kids, as well as free beach and pool activities.
