Looking for something to do on New Year's Eve in the Phoenix area? Here are some ideas for celebrating on December 31st. I will continue to add Scottsdale and Phoenix area New Year's Eve parties throughout December as I become aware of them.

Of course, just about every resort in the Valley of the Sun will have a New Year's Eve dinner with some bubbly and a midnight kiss (supply your own kissing partner). Find a restaurant for New Year's Eve dinner.

Across the Years Footraces

The Across The Years 72-, 48-, and 24-Hour Footrace is an annual fixed-time, multi-day, New Year’s weekend running event celebrating the new year. Drawing runners and fans from across the United States, the event begins Thursday, December 29 and concludes Sunday, January 1, 2012. The go-as-you-please event is popular with beginners and competitive runners, allowing them to run, socialize, eat, rest and sleep as desired.

Bobcat Billy’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Party

Bobcat Billy’s Clubhouse will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight on New Year’s Eve, where kids ages ages 5-12 will have decorations, party favors, games and dinner. The Clubhouse available to both guests staying at the resort as well as local residents with a dinner reservation at Bourbon Steak, La Hacienda, The Grill or LV Bistro at the resort, or who are attending the Stone Rose Lounge Fire & Ice party (see the separate listing under "S"). Family friendly celebrations including DJ-hosted cosmic bowling and shoe rental for 2 hours. A meal of 2 pizzas, salad and 2 pitchers of soda. A Sparking cider toast with party favors and fun contest prizes. 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. $159.95 for a party of six. Then starting at 9:30 p.m. party packages are available, which include appetizer buffet, DJ dancing, live music, drink specials, champagne toast, party favors and contest prizes. Bowling party includes lane and shoe rental from 10-2 with unlimited cosmic bowling. Billiards party includes unlimited billiard play from 10-2. Dance/game Party $20 Pre-pay, $25 at door, includes $10 game card. Bowling party for 6 is $249.95; billiards party for 6 is $149.95.

Live music, a champagne toast and party favors. Local band Bloom will provide the music and Bungalow will provide a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. There is no cover charge and the fun kicks off at 9 p.m. Bungalow’s full menu will be available New Year’s Eve.

Christopher Titus at Stand Up Live

Christopher Titus is considered one of the prolific stand-up working comedians working today. Over the past few years, Titus has released three ninety-minute albums, that’s 270 minutes of material. Titus previously starred in three one-hour comedy specials (Norman Rockwell is Bleeding, The Fifth Annual End of the World Tour and Love Is Evol) which can currently be seen on Comedy Central. Time Magazine called Titus "Brutal, hilarious and audacious" while Newsday called Christopher Titus, TV's most original comic voice since Seinfeld."
