Aside from the programs and trails, you might find that Veterans Oasis Park is just a lovely spot to take the family for some play time and a picnic. If your family has a four-legged member, he/she is welcome, too, as long as you clean up any droppings. All park ramadas are near the Urban Fishing Lake and some have barbecue grills. There is a small charge to reserve a ramada.
Factoid: You won't find swing sets at the play areas here. Children are encouraged to play and climb on boulders and walls in sandy and grassy areas near the Environmental Education Center.
