Arizona Reflections

The Bottom Line

In the making of this this DVD Mr. Giriodo didn't film even one tall building, highway, or shopping mall. You won't even see more than a couple of human beings. What he does provide is a gorgeous voyage through the natural wonders in Arizona.
Pros
  • Great photos
  • Lovely music
  • No narration, just Arizona's natural beauty speaking for itself
Cons
  • No descriptive material included with DVD
  • Cost: $20 plus shipping

  • Gorgeous photography--and after all, that's what it is all about.
  • Bsides natural wonders, it also includes a few sections on flora, fauna, petroglyphs, and pottery.

  • My guess is that most locals have never been to even half these places--I have visited all but one!

  • Who would enjoy this DVD? People who are planning to visit Arizona and travel outside the cities.
  • Who would enjoy this DVD? Relatives that you'd like to convince to come to Arizona!

Guide Review - Arizona Reflections Video Postcards

Arizona Reflections is a DVD photographed and produced by 'EMMY' award winner Phil G. Giriodi. He resides in the greater Phoenix area. He takes us on a sensory journey through the unique and amazing natural beauty of Arizona. There are 14 chapters in the video, covering the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Oak Creek Canyon, Kartchner Caverns, Petrified Forest and more. I daresay that many Arizonans have not explored many of the places that are depicted on the video, even though some of them are within 2 hours from Phoenix.

The 40 minutes of photography is set is lovely music. The music complements the piece but is quiet and calm. So peaceful, I might add, that it soothed my friend to sleep while we were watching it!

At the end of the video there is a printed instruction that you can visit the web site for descriptions of the various places shown. I visited the web site, and the descriptions are rather brief. Since they aren't giving too much away, I would have loved to see those as an information card on the inside of the DVD itself.

I probably would have left out the Oak Creek Canyon portion. Yes, Oak Creek Canyon is a beautiful area, but I don't believe that the Sedona/Oak Creek area was captured here, and maybe it just can't be.

Thanks, Phil, for the beautiful tour.
