Spiked Hot Cocoa

Spiked Hot Cocoa -- a grown ip drink to make your holidays warm and cozy -- is provided courtesy of Quiessence on the Farm at South Mountain in south Phoenix.

Ingredients:

  • 6 ounces Chopped Milk Chocolate
  • 4 ounces Cream
  • 12 ounces Milk
  • 3 ounces White Rum
  • 2 ounces Brandy
  • 2 ounces Granulated Sugar
  • ½ tsp Fresh Grated Nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp/Dash Ground Cinnamon
  • Dash Cayenne Pepper

Preparation:

Combine the milk and cream and heat to a simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and whisk to combine and melt chocolate, add sugar and spices, finish with rum and brandy. Keep warm on the stove. Serve with fresh whipped cream. Makes 4 mugs.
