On the following pages you'll find an eight part free online course for people who are considering moving to Phoenix or the surrounding communities. It is intended to address the concerns that I have heard, over and over again, in the years that I have been writing about living in the greater Phoenix area. If you'd rather have these pages delivered to you via email, you can sign up to receive the eight installments in newsletter format, one per week for eight weeks.
Each week people sign up for my email courses, but don't realize that their own systems are blocking my emails from getting through to them. If you sign up for this online course via email, or any other newsletter I offer (all free!) Please add my email address, phoenix.guide@about.com, to your contact list, or configure your spam filters to bypass any messages with a from address that ends in about.com.
In these eight installments I hope to answer many of the questions that you have about the area. We'll cover heat, creatures, neighborhoods, homes, diseases, jobs, schools, and taxes--what fun! If at any time you want to discuss the topics further, or you have a special situation, I invite you to visit the Phoenix Forum where you can solicit various opinions.
Before we get to the first topic of this series, the weather, please heed this warning: by the time you read the 8th and final part of this series, you may feel overwhelmed with negativity. You may wonder why in the heck anyone would want to live here. Keep in mind that my purpose is to answer the most frequently asked questions about moving to the metro Phoenix area. Naturally, those questions come in the form of concerns, and sometimes downright fright. You can be sure that there are wonderful things about living in the Valley of the Sun. Otherwise, people wouldn't be moving here at such an alarming rate!
Now, let's get to work.
