People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.
Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Whatever! It's all for fun!

We had our daughters wedding catered from Abuelo's Restaurant from the Scottsdale location. The Manager from that location took full responsibility for the set up, food and cleaning up afterwards. The food was excellent. he menu consisted of stuffed chicken, steak, prime rib, shrimp, rice, potatoes, broccoli and that was just the main course. This was a party for 250 people. Can't say enough aout this restaurant. Excellent food every time we go. If the food was not good, we would not have trusted them to cater our daughteres wedding. great job :)

Not impressed with the Arrowhead location. Noisy noisy noisy! Too noisy to enjoy a meal. Why can't they fix the acoustics? All their restaurants are shaped the same so I have no desire to try another one. Food: a few really standout good dishes but most is just average plain ol' Sonoran boring Mexican. I often wish the chefs in these restaurants would go to Mexico and learn what real Mexican food is and try to serve that.

I should have known something was up when there was a 45 minute to 1 1/2 wait at all the other restuarants, but no wait here. Went for my daughters'15th b-day. The dining room was freezing and we asked the waitress to change the temp. She told us the manager has 'allowed' it, but the cavernous room never warmed up. The food was horrible. All entrees were covered with a process cheese goo which all 5 members of my family hated. Wife ordered Tortilla soup. Tasty, but palty helping for 5 bucks. We asked for minor variation on daughter's food, but were told they can't modify anything as all food is prepared ahead of time (frozen??)The help was floor sweeping all around us in prep for closing..I guess (It was 7:00)I had a vision of floor dust everywhere, but could not see because of the dim light. So much for my girl's special day. We are headed to Olive Garden tonight.

Despite the attractive decor the food was absolutely terrible. Enchiladas were covered with what appeared to be melted Velveeta cheese. The refried beans were the worst I have ever tasted. We could not eat them. Complaints to the waitress just brought indifferent stares. Service was adequate except for the lack of interest in our feelings about the meal. I notice a review on one of the Scottsdale web sites raves about the food and how the manager watches over the food. He must have left.
