They call this restaurant "Greek" food. Anyone reviewing this & saying it's great, what? HAve you never eaten Greek food? Wow, hamburgers on the menu? No Greek wine? Atmosphere, typical coffee house. Had a Greek appetizer, couldn't get worse then this. Then the Gyros, this is Gyros. What in blue blazes are we raving about? I was so sorry I took out of towners to this establishment, stupid me, w/that name, just assumed it was authentic. This is as authentic as serving a corn beef sandwich on white bread w/mayo! Pitiful, just pitiful.

(20th & Camelback) I have ventured to more than 4 of The Big Fat Greek restaurants...and have met nothing but an enjoyable & entertaining evening at all locations!! People seem to remark that some of the authenticity has been removed from the food, but I have found that less oils have made the food tastier to me as an american. I have enjoyed the soulvaki, the mousaka, and the saganaki better than my travels to Greece. I am happy that they have joined us in the Valley and wish them alot more success!! OPA

(Tatum & Shea) I went there for the first time in 4 months. I noticed a diference on the service and food. I had the lamp chops and loved them. The servers were very friendly and attentive. Managers (especially the gentleman with the ponytail) were on top of everything. Would I go back? Definitely.

(Scottsdale) My Big Fat Greek Restaurant in Oldtown Scottsdale is disgusting. I would never suggest that anyone should go there. Despite all of the negative things i've heard people say about the place, I had a friend invite me there for dinner, so I went just thinking I would order a salad or something. Well, in my salad was a dead cockroach! On top of that, the manager did nothing to satisfy us after that! He acted like nothing happened. Since then, i've spoken with many different people about the incident, and have found out that there have been multiple sightings of cockroaches in that building or in people's food, and many people would never eat there again. I suggest no one eats there. And if you do, good luck!

The food tastes great, and the portions are large, but I had diarrhea within an hour afterward. This happened 2 months ago, and once again tonight, so I decided that I would take the time to warn people. I generally have a stomach of steel, so it's unfortunate (I won't return).

(Chandler) Although the food was enjoyable the service was hoorible. We were invited to a dinner birthday party that reserved the private party room, but when we arrived we were suprised to see that another group was occupying the room as they were suprise to see us entering the room. The room was reserved with the restuarant knowing that we were coming with a large group. But to make matters worse was that after 9:30pm they turned the restuarant into a Thug club run by VIP Entertainment that started kicking out customers that were there to eat. VIP had there security guards come into the private party room that was reserved and interupt our celebration by stating that if we were going to stay for the club session than we would have to pay an additional $10.00. Keep in mind that our party just dropped about $600 for dinner. One security guard even came back and begin carding us saying that the Liquor Board would be stopping by that night. I thought that was funny since they never annouce when they will be dropping by. Any way if this is the way the owners feels he can make money I assume you will be losing your Liquor License soon. Also they told a party in the group that he could not stay because he had on white tennis shoes although the VIP host had on White Tennis shoes himself. I will not be going back and will recommend to other professionals I know to spend there money elsewhere. I also recommending to attending any VIP Entertainment functions.

I have had great experiences at the Mill Ave. location and Scottsdale, but I did NOT at the 20th and Camelback location. I noticed that they have recently raised their prices on the lunch specials for the Gyro, Souvlaki and Falafel sandwiches from $4.95 to $5.95 and that they also don't honor that price anymore at night; it's now $8.95! Totally ridiculous. So I got some falafel to go for lunch and the lettuceand tomato was minimal, wilted and mostly Iceberg lettuce, not Romaine. And on top of that, the falafel patties were super dry. I was VERY dissapointed and I DO NOT reccommend this location specifically. I believe these are franchised and this one just opened. This was not a good way to start out their Grand OPening.
