Los Dos Molinos

Reviews of Los Dos Molinos Submitted by About.com Phoenix Visitors

By , About.com Guide

People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About.com Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.

Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Unless I specifically mention that I have edited a review for some reason, you see the comments posted here exactly as I received them.

(Mesa) I had the pleasure of going to Los Dos Molinos when I was in Phoenix in April and could not wait to bring my boyfriend back when we visited in August 08. The only thing that we were disappointed in was our own fault - we didn't know they closed for the afternoon. But, they let us have a quick margarita & chips during the last 15 minutes they were open. I was a little nervous after talking the food up for so many months but it was absolutely worth it. The service was very good @ both locations.

Worst treatment I've ever experienced in a restaurant in my life. After we paid our bill, we were finishing up our drinks. MAYBE 5 minutes after paying, one of the staff asked us to leave because people were waiting. We had just left a 25% tip on a bill that was over $100. I reported the mistreatment to a young woman who was a so-called owner. She told me that she asked her staff to tell us to leave. I was shocked and hurt at the rudeness of the owner and her staff. [Note from About.com Phoenix Guide: I assume that this review and the one preceding it, received one day apart, were relative to the same visit.]

If there were 0 stars I would give this restaurant that rating. We went to eat at Los Dos Molinos with two of our friends. The food was good. Unfortunately our experience was completely shattered when we paid our bill. As we sat there finishing our beers one of the wait staff came up to our table and asked us if we could hurry up and leave because there were people waiting. We still had beer, which we paid for to finish. What's worse, when my fiance went to get the owner's name to submit a complaint, she was directed to the owner who told her that she had sent the waiter over there to ask us to hurry up. With that lack of concern for the customer, I really hope the worst for her and her business. Don't go there unless you wanted to be treated horribly!!!

I had eaten at Los Dos when it was in the old "A" frame building in Mesa. The food was fantastic as well as the service. I would travel the 15-20 miles to eat there 2-3 times a week. It has been a year since I last ate at the Central location. My boyfriend was not impressed. I am sad to see what the growth has done to the food. Submitted by: Dee

First off, "Jane" if your willing to eat at ponchos, you might as well be eating dog food. People like you make me laugh, you're comparing chain restaurant food, to quality. Los Dos is an excellent restaurant and the staff is very friendly. The great thing about Los Dos is they have a zero tolerance attitude, more restaurants should be like that.

My husband ordered a shredded beef:):)burro; the beef was sparse, mostly mushy, and there were beans in it; the waiter explained they use "bean juice" in flavoring the beef, so sometimes some beans do get into the beef. OK, whatever. I ordered shredded beef flautas; first they were covered in cheese, not cripy like I like them. Then the meat was pink and mushy, and there was canned CORN BEEF HASH in with the sparse beef!! The too hot salsa and gigantic margaritas did NOT affect my taste buds, believe me!! I can't beleve they use corn beef hash in their food--is this New Mexico cuisine?? I'll stick to Pancho's down the street from now on!!!
