THIS WAS THE BEST RESTARAUNT WE WENT TO ON A RECENT VISIT TO PHOENIX. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS GREAT AND THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY. I WAS TRAVELING W/2 SMALL CHILDREN WHICH CAN BE A PROBLEM IN SOME RESTRAUNTS BUT THE STAFF COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE ACCOMODATING..OUR SERVER EVEN BROUGHT LIGHT-UP MARRACAS TO THE TABLE TO HELP OCCUPY THE KIDS..THE SALSA IS SPICY BUT IT COMES WITH A WARNING. THE GUACAMOLE IS THE BEST YOU WILL EVER HAVE! TO DIE FOR..DON'T MISS THIS ONE IF YOU'RE IN PHOENIX..

(Mesa) I give it 5 stars for a few reasons. First of all, the way they do the seatins is a little "different", but it's not that big of deal after you get used to it. The staff has been friendly to me, but they are spotty sometimes. This is fine with me because it reminds me of Mexico so it's all good. My roommate and I took two friends visiting from MN there, and they absolutely loved it. They even took some salsa back to MN with them. Food has flavor, not like Mecayo's bland chicken. To me, it's the best Mexican restaurant in the area, but I haven't been everywhere. The only knock I have on it is that the salsa may be too hot for a date or someone visiting, but a warning takes care of that.

My grandmother is the owner & I would just like to clarify the comment from "Joyce" in Dec. 06....She stated they had reservations which with her party of 6 people total we do not do...we only take reservations of 20 or more. Yes the restaurant was nearly empty but what her party & her did not seem to comprehend is we do not seat incomplete partis which hers indeed was. Please everyone there is indeed 2 sides to every story, keep that in mind....

Extremely poor customer service, with a complicated set of inflexible "rules" to be followed about seating, waiting. With reservations, many empty tables we were told we must wait outside until the late person in our party arrived. When questioning their rules, we were told "we are not going to seat or serve you because we do not like your attitute". We were not loud, intoxicated, argumentative or difficult and the place was half empty. Don't go there unless you want to experience this.

Living here for 26 years, I have eaten at all their restaurants in Arizona many times. The food, especial Springerville, was fantastic. The food at the Central location this past week, I would not feed to my dog. The hard work of the original owners in Springerville are being put to shame by family members who should not be in the restaurant business. Truly say for a well established arizona tradition.
