The Bottom Line

You can eat for a very reasonable price at White Chocolate Grill, or you can do it up with appetizers, sides and special drinks. Most appetizers are in the $8 or $9 category, and main course salads range from $9 to $15. Most sandwiches are about $10 and the majority of dinner entrees are $17 to $25. Brunch entrees are between $10 and $13. Desserts are about $8 each and are large enough to share.

Guide Review - White Chocolate Grill

A varied selection of burgers, salads, sandwiches and wood-fire grilled meats and fish comprise the regular menu, while on the weekends a brunch menu is featured. That's what we were there to experience.

The darkness of the restaurant on a Saturday at noon was a bit daunting at first, and even a bit depressing. The White Chocolate Grill has a modern, sleek look with a dark woods and a colorful bar. We sat with a view of the food preparation area and noticed a great deal of care given to presentation, and even the positions of the foods on the plate. We had to try an appetizer -- you can order from any of their menus -- and we were happy with our AZ Egg Rolls ($9) which had a little zip, but weren't too spicy. For brunch we tried the Crab Cake Benedict ($13), Grilled Filet Benedict ($13) and a Roasted Mushroom Omelet ($10). All good, but the Crab Cake Benedict was the star of the three. The filet was a bit scarce, and the sauce wasn't hollandaise at all. We were told the sauce was a special recipe. That's fine, but please don't surprise me -- the menu indicated hollandaise! Our brunches came with nicely prepared breakfast meats, fresh fruit, banana bread, and very tasty herbed potato hash browns.

Why wouldn't we have dessert after eating eggs? The White Chocolate Brownie with chocolate (what else?) sauce and French vanilla ice cream was a luscious end to a lovely brunch.

I definitely do not recommend this restaurant. It is overpriced and the food is subpar. My stepdaughter and I both ordered the soup and salad. The soup (chicken tortilla) was very good but the salad (Caesar) was smothered in dressing and extremely soggy. We both had about three bites and couldn't stomach another bite. Another guest ordered the filet mignon sandwich and although the taste was decent, it was very fatty. I think we saw the server a total of three times the entire evening. It was obvious that we did not take more than a couple of bites of our salad and we were not offered a discount or anything in exchange for the horrible salads. This restaurant is way too pricey to be given meals that are unedible. I will never eat at the White Chocolate Grill again.
