Guide Review - Bistro at Kokopelli Winery

We made reservations for lunch on a Saturday at noon. No one else was eating when we arrived, but at other times, especially during festival weekends, we have seen the Bistro be very busy.

We started with a cup of soup, both French Onion and Italian Wedding Soup, and both were very good, served with bread and butter. The menu consists mostly of salads and Panini sandwiches. The turkey was very good, the Prosciutto & Mozzarella was good, but could have used a bit more meat. The portions are large. They also serve Bruschetta. The one we ordered, fig & ricotta, was a large portion, and can be either a lunch by itself, or shared as an appetizer between 2 to 4 people.

For dessert, the fresh strawberries with dipping chocolate, shared between two of us, was a perfect ending to a very nice lunch. It helps, but is not required, to enjoy wine with your lunch, since this Bistro is associated with a winery in Willcox, Arizona that produces some very palatable wines.

We enjoyed our lunch, but it isn't the kind of meal we'd have everyday. The menu is limited. In the afternoon, they serve a 'nosh' where people can go and enjoy wine tasting with cheeses, olives, dried fruits, nuts, chocolate, bread and dipping oil.

If you are a burger and fries sort of person, you probably won't enjoy the Bistro at Kokopelli Winery, but if you are interested in a change of pace, or you have guests from out of town, this is a good lunch choice.

Needs a lot of work, Member ogroup069

I am writing this review primarily because the staff there is very good and attentive. And this is my 3 time to the place. My waiter was Johnny and he was very attentive. The food? Well, I wouldn't recommend the prime rib or beef forestiere...I had the prime rib and was serve on the chill side and was tough. Prime rib need to be tender and higher quality of beef which this was not. The beef forestiere was tough as well according to my dinner partner. Anyway, I was glad to hear that they had live music (LOVE live music), so I might be back sooner than I thought. Like I said I been here before and the salmon was very good over the salad my last time here. The wine selection is good. Seriously, awesome staff! The manager was on the floor and did check in with the tables, I would recommend that he be checking the kitchen and food before it leaves the kitchen and order better selections of beef to serve to the customers. This location needs a lot of work with their food.
