Guide Review - Better Than Sex Cake Cafe
For a place with only about 7 or 8 indoor tables (and a few small ones outside) the menu at the Better Than Sex Cake Cafe is more than adequate. There are sandwiches, a couple of salads, pizzas, and quiches. And, of course, Better Than Sex Cake. On our visit we tries the pastrami sandwich on foccacia bread, and the Chandler Cheesesteak sandwich served with au jus. We'll have a hard time not ordering those again the next time we visit, but we'll make an effort to try something new!
The chef is very proud of his homemade soups, and on the day we visited the Tortilla Soup was excellent. I guess we never know what kind of soup there will be on any particular day--there's no set schedule. I hear the chicken corn chowder is quite a crowd pleaser!
The impression I get is that the Better Than Sex Cake Cafe concept was built around the cake first. We got all three kinds, and liked them all. The server explained to us how the owner drizzles caramel sauce into holes in the chocolate cake to give it that supermoistness--yummmmm.
Break away from typical fast food subs, map the place before you go, and bring a cell phone in case you get lost (like I did)!
