Rocky Point, Mexico--or Puerto Peñasco--is a favorite destination for many Phoenix area residents because it is the closest beach we have. Rocky Point is also very popular during Spring Break, so if you are considering a visit, take that into account. If you aren't a student traveling with your friends, Spring Break is a great time to avoid going to Rocky Point!

TRAFFIC COPS...every time I read about how tourists are ripped off by the local traffic police it makes me crazy! If you are stopped, tell them that yes you would like the ticket. If you are given a ticket you can pay it with in the first 24 hrs. and it is half off!! Someone I know recently was ticketed for RECKLESS DRIVING and speeding and the ticket was 30 dollars!! it was paid before 48 hrs. went by..I think that everyone should help to avoid corruption and just tell the police that you will pay the ticket at the police station. You will see that most times they will not give you a ticket.
