Some Arizona Private Golf Clubs Offer Tee Times to the Public

Play Golf at Private Courses

I played golf at The Rim Golf Club in Payson, AZ even though I'm not a member.

There are a few hundred golf courses in Arizona, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one to play on any day that the mood strikes you. Still, we always want what we can't have, don't we? I remember spending days out at the LPGA tournament at Superstition Mountain when it used to be held there, and thinking, gosh -- I'd love to play this course. But I couldn't. It was a private, members only club.

Some of those members-only golf courses are looking for other opportunities to generate revenue. One way they are doing that is by opening up a limited number of tee times to outsiders -- that's you and me.

These golf courses offer tee times to the public by listing them with GolfNow.com (Buy Direct), a company that offers discounted rates form online booking in more than 40 states.

Day Trips from Phoenix: Private Golf Courses with Public Tee Times

When the weather is hot in the Valley of the Sun, I'm good with driving a couple of hours each way to see some cooler weather and beautiful scenery. These are examples of some of the private golf clubs that you might be able to play by booking an online tee time through GolfNow.com where you can drive and play a round and return, all in the same day:
  • Payson: The Rim Golf Club
  • Sedona: Seven Canyons Golf Club

Note: Offerings on GolfNow.com are constantly changing, so if you don't see a course that you are looking for, check back in a few days and it might be there. Private clubs tend not to list public tee times very far in advance. Also, at GolfNow.com you usually have to pay in advance, with no refunds for cancellations. Other restrictions and fees may apply.
