Arizona State University has an extensive sports program, and one of the most popular for spectators is football. The A.S.U. Sun Devils play at Sun Devil Stadium, Frank Kush Field in Tempe, Arizona. The stadium seats just over 73,000 and has hosted Arizona State University football games since 1958.
ASU plays in the PAC-10, along with 9 other teams: USC, Cal, Oregon, UCLA, Oregon State, Washington State, Stanford, Arizona, and Washington. One of the favorite games for spectators is always the game against ASU's perennial rivals, the Arizona Wildcats who play at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
2009 represents ASU's 97th season of football. In 2008 they finished with a 5-7 record. Quarterback Rudy Carpenter started all 12 games and finished his ASU career with 43 consecutive starts.
