The Insight Bowl has been played in Phoenix since 2000. It all started in Tucson, Arizona in 1989 as the Copper Bowl. The Copper Bowl became the Insight.com Bowl when Insight Enterprises signed a long term deal to be title sponsor of the game, and in 2002 the name was changed to the Insight Bowl.

For the Insight Bowl METRO Light Rail will run regular service with additional trains to support pre- and post-event crowds.
