UPDATE: The Arizona Sting have suspended operations. If they reorganize within the National Lacrosse League, I'll post the information here.
The game of lacrosse hasn't yet hit its peak of popularity, although the history of the sport in America dates back to the 15th century. The Arizona Sting continue to attract larger crowds, and it isn't quite as tought to find lacrosse teams in our schools and park recreational programs.
If you aren't familiar with the game, it's definitely a contact sport, with appeal for hockey lovers, basketball fans, and soccer followers. Basically, 10 guys (or gals) with long sticks that have nets on the end try to get a 5 oz. hard ball into the opponent's goal. Sounds easy, eh?
