Maryvale Baseball Park is located in Phoenix, on the west side of town. Situated in a part of town not thought of as a good neighborhood, this stadium is a jewel. It's bright, comfortable, cheerful, well-maintained, and puts everyone right up close to where the action is.
Maryvale Baseball Park Tips
These comments are based on my visit in March 2007.- There is a charge to park at Maryvale Baseball Park.
- All seats at Maryvale Baseball Park have backs; there are no bleachers here.
- There are no cup holders at the seats. This is annoying if you have a soft drink from the fountain, since lids/straws are no longer available.
- There is only one level of seating. The concourse, with the concessions, restrooms, and exits, are above the seats.
- Handicapped seating is on the concourse level.
- The berm area is one of the largest of the Cactus League ball parks. The entire outfield is grass, and the area by the scoreboard, or under the trees along the back wall, are popular on hot sunny days in March.
- Standing is permitted at railings on the concourse level. You can spend some time here having a beer in the shade and chatting with friends and still have a good view of the game.
- The seats on the third base side will start out with shade at the beginning of the game, and the shade will move to the first base side. The first row or two of seats will likely not get any shade during the game.
- The orientation of the stadium is such that no one with seats has the sun glaring into their eyes. The people in the left field berm will have sun in their eyes on a bright day.
- Maryvale Baseball Park is usually not as crowded as some of the other ball parks during Spring Training, unless the Diamondbacks or the Cubs are playing the Brewers.
- The practice fields and batting cages for the Brewers are at the same location.
