The U.S. Census Bureau has released their data estimates on population statistics for the period ending July 1, 2005. The actual census only takes place every ten years, in dates ending in a zero, the the next full census will take place in 2010. Because we continue to experience great population growth in Arizona, it's good to stop midway between census periods to see how we are doing.

3. That part of Apache Junction that is in Maricopa County is very small, from a population perspective. Most of the population lives in Pinal County. As a whole, Apache Junction is the 22nd largest city in the state with a total population of about 32,000 people.
4. Although people think of the City of Maricopa as being in the Greater Phoenix area, it is actually located in Pinal County.
