Super Bowl XLII will be played in the Phoenix, Arizona area in 2008. Here are the answers to questions about the 2008 Super Bowl.
Has there ever been a Super Bowl in the Phoenix area before?Yes, Super Bowl XXX (Super Bowl 30) was played at A.S.U.'s Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ.
When is Super Bowl 2008?Super Bowl XLII will take place on February 3, 2008.
Does Super Bowl XLII have a mascot?Yes! Not only is he the mascot, but he is also the Team Captain of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee. Here's his picture.
Where will the Super Bowl XLII be played?A new stadium has been built in Glendale, Arizona, just west of Phoenix. It is the new home of the Arizona Cardinals, and it is a state-of-the-art facility. It is the first stadium in North America to feature a retractable roof and a roll-out grass field. Besides the 2008 Super Bowl, it will also be the location for the Fiesta Bowl, as well as the BCS National College Football Championship game every 4th year. The new stadium will hold about 73,000 people. Here are more details about University of Phoenix Stadium (formerly known as Cardinals Stadium).
Where is the stadium? It's in Glendale, Arizona which is in the northwest part of the Valley of the Sun. Here's a map and directions to University of Phoenix Stadium.
How do I get tickets for Super Bowl in Phoenix?Only a specific number of tickets will be allotted to Cardinals season ticket holders. During the 2007 season, the Cardinals conducted a weighted lottery to determine which season ticket holders would be able to purchase Super Bowl XLII tickets. The lottery was weighted based on the number of years an individual has held season tickets and the number of tickets in the account. It's no surprise that season tickets for the first season in the new Cardinals Stadium (since renamed University of Phoenix Stadium) sold out in early 2006. There is a waiting list for cancellations and accounts that aren't paid. Remember--having season tickets still didn't guarantee that you got Super Bowl tickets.
If you don't have season tickets that were selected in the lottery, the only way to purchase Phoenix Super Bowl tickets will be through a ticket broker, like TicketsNow.com (Buy Direct), or from scalpers/ticket exchanges. Be careful about buying tickets from unauthorized ticket sellers!
