1. Snow Dogs
Cuba Gooding, Jr. stars as a successful Miami dentist who has to travel to Alaska where he has inherited his mother's team of sled dogs. The dogs definitely steal the show. Good family fun.
2. Dr. Zhivago
Old classic movie about a doctor-poet in revolutionary Russia starring young Omar Sharif and Julie Christie. Spectacular sights abound in this epic, and cold, story.3. Vertical Limit

A wonderful Disney comedy based on the true story of the Jamaican bobsled team which competed in the 1988 Winter Olympics. Stars John Candy.5. Groundhog Day
Bill Murray, Andie McDowell and Chris Elliott in a movie that I can watch over and over and over....well, if you've seen it, you know what I mean! It all takes place on one snowy day--Groundhog day. Great family comedy.6. Snow Day
A light family comedy starring Chevy Chase. He's a weatherman and father who dreams of snow and big changes for his family.7. The Mighty Ducks
Disney had a hit with this movie starring Emilio Estevez as a lawyer who has to do community service by coaching an unlikely hockey time. Lots of skating scenes.8. March of the Penguins
An amazing documentary about the life cycles and mating rituals of the Emporer Penguin. All the action take place in Antarctica. Morgan Freeman narrates.9. Ice Age
