These restaurants will make your Valentine's Day a special occasion. Most of them offer a prix fixe menu for the occasion. Check back often -- I add more listings right up until a few days before Valentine's Day!

Even if it isn't Valentine's Day, you might consider any of these restaurants for a date or other special occasion. Of course, the special pricing or menu might not be available on another occasion. Prices mentioned do not include tax or tip unless otherwise specified.

Romantic Dinner in Scottsdale
A four-course meal for lovers. For the first course, choose between crispy crab cakes, arugula pesto, herbed fennel slaw, roasted beet salad, arugula, goat cheese, walnuts, strawberry honey vin or duck, duck, goose, duck prosciutto, duck confit rilette, foie gras crème brulee. The adventure continues with a red wine braised short rib, wild mushroom risotto, fava beans, Zinfandel ju, Seared sea bass, parsnip puree, confit baby fennel, melted tomato, champagne burr blanc or pan seared airline chicken breast, savory herbed bread pudding, grilled asparagus, tart cherry chutney, molasses gastrique or linguini pasta, jumbo prawns, crispy pancetta, wilted baby kale, tomato cream sauce. For the finale, red velvet crepes, cream cheese ice cream and strawberry compote. $65 per person.

Guests will be welcomed with prairiebreeze cheddar popovers and a champagne toast. Next, choose between appetizers like the warm kale and roasted garlic dip or smoked Norwegian salmon. The second course features The Henry’s favorites from the long bone short rib and Thai peanut black cod to the wild mushroom tortellini and wood grilled pork chop. Dessert offerings include blueberry buttermilk pie, warm croissant bread pudding and more. The prix fixe menu costs $60 per person.

A three-course Chef Tasting. Known for his “garden to table” crafts, varietal preparations and wine expertise, Chef Dustin’s special Valentine’s Day menu consists of: 1st Course: Carrot Soup – Celery leaf, parsnip crumble and crème fraiche – or –Mozzarella Salad – House pulled mozzarella, local green, noble bread and kumquats. 2nd Course: Scallops – Cauliflower puree, heirloom cauliflower, braised pistachio and Loll Rosa.– or – Butcher’s Cut – Hanger steak with parmesan risotto, preserved lemon, red wine sauce and Romanesco. 3rd Course: Chocolate Marquise – Blood orange, pecan brittle, whipped crème fraiche. – or –Milk & Cookies – Fior di latte panna cotta with raspberry and chocolate cookie crumble. $60 per person. Wine pairings are an additional $35 per person.

A Valentine’s Buffet Dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The price is $9.99 per adult and $2.49 per child, all you can eat (dine in). Soups: Tomato Bisque and Chicken Orzo. Salads: Mixed Greens and Oriental. Entrees: Chicken Picatta with Lemon/Caper Sauce; Pork Loin with Gravy; Saithe with Artichoke Sauce; Penne Pasta with choice of Alfredo Sauce or Marinara Meat Sauce; Meatball and Gravy. Sides: Boiled Red Potatoes; Steamed Vegetables; Rice; Dinner Rolls. Desserts: Tiramisu; Cream Cake; Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Tickets are available for purchase ahead of time in the restaurant, but walk-ins will also be served on a first-come, first-served basis. Free child-care will be available in Smäland, the IKEA children’s play area (up to 90 minutes). The restaurant will close at 3:30 p.m. to set up for the dinner.
