These restaurants will make your Valentine's Day a special occasion. Most of them offer a prix fixe menu for the occasion. Check back often -- I add more listings right up until a few days before Valentine's Day!

Even if it isn't Valentine's Day, you might consider any of these restaurants for a date or other special occasion. Of course, the special pricing or menu might not be available on another occasion. Prices mentioned do not include tax or tip unless otherwise specified.

Stonegrill, featuring trendy southwest American fare, offers Valentine’s dishes with an eclectic twist. Start with queso blanco fondue with Oaxaca, fresco, and cotija cheeses, pulled beef short rib, roasted poblano and plantain tostones for $11 or crispy rock shrimp and hominy with cilantro lime crema for $13. Enjoy a main dish of either applewood smoked chicken mole with brown rice, Anasazi beans, roasted chayote squash, hush roasted corn and red chile-mole sauce for $24 or achiote glazed mahi mahi with charred tomatillo, Yukon potato hash, savory cabbage, pico de gallo and salsa verde for $26. Served from 5 to 9 p.m.

A five-course dinner.1st course (amuse): Fresh Oysters - Mignonette sauce with garlic, shallot, cucumber and jalapeno. 2nd course, choice of:

Halibut with apricot jam; Beef tar tar Korean Style; Lobster tempura with a buddha finger butter sauce. 3rd Course, choice of: Smoked mushroom and lemon grass soup; Chawanmushi (heirloom tomato and mushroom salad with an egg custard). 4th course, choice of: Baked crab hand roll, tuna, yellowtail, salmon, halibut and albacore; Seared duck with Braised pork-belly, cauliflower puree, roasted beets and fried brussels sprouts; Miso glazed salmon with wild rice and broccolini. Final Course. choice of: Heart shaped chocolate lava; Goat cheese cheesecake with rosemary caramel sauce. $60 per person; full menu also available. On Thursday only, Sushi Roku will also be offering “Valentine’s Industry Night” with a bottle of Norton Rose sparkling wine or La Marca Prosecco and a complimentary dessert for $15 (1 bottle/dessert per table, must have paycheck stub, etc. to prove one person works in a restaurant). Chef Massimo De Francesca presents a three-course Valentine's Day Menu "Italian Style." Appetizer: choice of roasted bell pepper bisque with asparagus gratin, charred shrimp salad, or salad of baby arugula, baby spinach, smoked duck “pancetta”, pickled shallots, strawberry dressing. Entrée: choice of lobster ravioli with funghi trifolati, saffron and creamed fennel, or risotto, smoked tomato with fontina, parmigiano, mozzarella and basil, or grilled beef tenderloin with melted leeks, mushroom ragu, roasted potatoes, or seafood and pasta with shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels with monkfish and garlic-anchovy crostini. Dessert: choice of raspberry mousse with beet crumble and white chocolate fondata, or molten chocolate cake with caramelized banana, vanilla - peanut butter sauce. $50 per person.

Talavera is teaming up with Valrhona Chocolate to offer an inspired menu showcasing all things chocolate in both sweet and savory form. Enjoy a five-course dinner for two featuring Cocoa Crusted Tuna, Lobster With White Chocolate Beurre Blanc, Roasted Duck with Chocolate Mole Risotto and Scallops with a Chocolate Vinaigrette - it's chocolate on a whole new level featuring the prestigious Valrhona chocolate from the Rhone Valley in France. Dinner is paired with two glasses of sparkling rose. The cost is $245 per couple, which includes a glass of sparkling rosé with dessert and a takeaway treat. Talavera is known for scenic, romantic views.
