Frank N Dan's Place

Reviews of Frank N Dan's Place in Phoenix, AZ

By Judy Hedding, About.com

People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About.com Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.

Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Unless I specifically mention that I have edited a review for some reason, you see the comments posted here exactly as I received them.

I think I got food poisoning there. Either way I felt horrble and had a couple days of painful episodes. That's all I ate all day, so it had to be concieved at Frank-n-Dan's Place. I called and talked to some lady named Debbie and all she could do is deny it was their food. Anyway, I'm done going there...

This really is one of the best kept secrets of Phoenix! The owners are wonderful people and they make you feel at home. When we lived in AZ for 2 years we ate at Frank and Dan's almost every weekend because it was wonderful home cooked food, a safe child environment and we would chat with the owners for hours. They have a play area for children with toys, a chalk board and a train set. It's very clean as their own two children play there as well. The prices are reasonable and they are very gracious and accomodating people. I highly recommend Frank and Dan's to anyone wanting a great meal and the possibility of making awesome friends. Don't let the location or outside deter you. They do have a bar as well but it is very family oriented.

The food was cold, I think her name was Debbie, but she was nasty to us, and I could barely gag the food down. I ended up just leaving the food, paying my bill and bailing out of there. WHat a nightmare.

They have a great place for family. The waitress even held my newborn of 5 weeks old so I could eat my meal, and he was very content. I was actually jealous. The staff their just is always in a good cheerful mood. And the Food, OUTRAGOUS! It's made with Love!! THANKS FRANK N' DAN PLACE!! for helping me keep my sanity.

We discovered Frank n Dans after a menu was left at our business about a mile down the road. We gave them a try for breakfast and have been going at least 2 - 3 times a week since. Great value and food. We order lunch to be delivered to our business several times a month. Have not had a bad meal in the 5 months we have been going there. That should say it all. We really like the home cooking and the friendliness of the owner and staff.

Frank Garner, are you sure you are talking about Frank N Dan's in Phoenix?? I have been going there for over a year now 2-3 times a week and have only had milk server to in a 20 oz. Usually that is too much for me to drink but never want to waste it. And Debbie? I don't think she even knows what rude is!!! In fact, the reason I went back the second time and have gone every week since then is Debbie makes you feel as if you have known her all of your life! Me and my husband feel as though we are sitting in our best friend's home having a meal each and every time we eat there. Food is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. This little restaurant is the BEST KEPT SECRET IN PHOENIX! Home cooking at it's finest. A children's play area to keep kids occupied and gives parents a chance to enjoy that extra cup of coffee. I invite everyone to go in and see for themselves. Then come back here and let me know how you liked it.

The owner is rude, the food barely edible and the prices are steep for what you get. $2.00 for a juice glass of milk, come on.

This little restaurant charmed me with it's Family atmosphere and home cooking. They provide a play area for children and the food is just like home. The owners named the restaurant for their two small children and they are often around to entertain other young visitors. The prices are fair and the decor is warm and inviting. They serve only breakfast and lunch now, but they tell me they are opening for dinner later this month. I can't wait to try out the dinners.
