The Grill at the Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale

Reviews of The Grill at the Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale

By , About.com Guide

People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.

Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Whatever! It's all for fun!

Follow up to comment posted July 2007: I posted a review of "The Grill" at Scotsdale Princess, and they had made true amends with me and now very much satisfied with my visit.

Went to the “Grill” the evening of 07-07-07, it was horrible! They claiming to be the countries top 12 steak restaurants and I got to say, no, it is not even close! So, from the resort we had to jump a shuttle, and completely forgot to call ahead of time for reservations, so we were stuck in the Bar to eat this meal. It was about 110 degrees outside, and it took 26 minutes to get some water once we sat, and couldn’t for the life of me get this server/bar tender to get me more than one $9 cocktail, huge attitude for whatever reason. So, as I dreamt of sitting at the window that looked out at the most surreal view of the golf course, we watched an early video production of old timer golf classics on the TV above as we waited, and waited, and waited for this pricey meal. An hour later or so, too reserved of a place to get "huffy", the food was served like Denny’s serves pancakes, slammed to the table, silver bouncing and the steak I ordered looked like it had been sitting in a freezer for a few years. By this time I wasn’t hungry anyway although, I was very hungry when I got there, you know from golf/swimming all day. The $55 steak was absolutely horrible! The meal set me back $140 with tip, got back to the shuttle and a couple who had reservations and was on the ride to the restaurant with us were also getting in the van, was amazed at "The Grill" as we were. Do you really believe these are the steaks that you are marketing? Doe's management understand that part of going out for any meal, a large part of the pleasure is the service. We received neither a good meal nor good service, in fact left in awe and insulted.
