People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About.com Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.
Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Unless I specifically mention that I have edited a review for some reason, you see the comments posted here exactly as I received them.

Went to Johnny's Uptown last week. The staff has totally changed, the menu and the chef are new. The food and service was great!!! I had a server named Joey. He never left us wanting for anything. While we were sitting there, business suddenly picked up and the place started to jump. The staff handled it well (we were watching for it). I've been coming to Johnny's for a while, but stopped coming when the place seemed to be in decline. The old staff was lazy and the place suffered for it. But after what I've seen, the bad reviews of the past are out the window.The other night we decided to give it another try and was absolutely overwhelmed with the change. We loved it! I can say that we would have stayed later, but the music ended at 11:00 (on a Friday night?). This would be a fantastic late night joint. All jazz lovers and jazz musicians should find this place. Phoenix should NOT lose a place like this. We need to support it, the room is cool, the new staff is on the ball, and albeit, the menu is a little higher priced than I'd like, there's no other room in the Phoenix area like it. As I said, my only gripe is the upscale menu with prices to match. I think they'd pack the joint if they put in homespun fare at moderate prices.

I had a great time, my wife and i went on a Friday night. It seemed like a really great place- attentive service, great food, outstanding atmosphere. I thought it was great.

What a great place. The food was well prepared, the music was great. We celebrated our 25th anniversary here and everything was perfect. The manager, Mark and our server Chris, made it a great night.... We highly recommend Johnny's Uptown

I gave this restaurant 3 stars because the atmosphere, music and setting was great. I would never order food there again. The drinks, I would go to the bar and get myself. Our waiter was Marcelino who was attentive at first until it got busy. Once we got our food he was ghost. I had to track him down for everything only to get his bad attitude. When he dropped the bill on the table as he walked by, never stopping, I was charged full price for the appetizers when it was supposed to be 1/2 off. The waiter told me, it would be 1/2 if it was ordered from the bar side. Of course he could not prove this and just the thought of it sounded ridiculous. After some discussion, he corrected the bill. Never refilled out drinks or asked how the food was or if we needed anything else.
