Maizie's Café & Bistro

Reviews of Maizie's Café & Bistro Submitted by About.com Phoenix Visitors

By Judy Hedding, About.com

People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About.com Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.

Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Unless I specifically mention that I have edited a review for some reason, you see the comments posted here exactly as I received them.

This place is a gem! I'm so excited that I discovered it. The food was original and well executed, the drinks were plentiful, original and refreshing. Staff was extremely friendly, and the service was outstanding. Call me old fashioned, but I guess I like my server to talk to me and give me recommendations instead of looking down his nose ring at me because I'm not wearing the right brand of skinny jeans. (Sorry Lux, Sorry Pane Bianco - get over yourselves) It was $25 for breakfast for two - maybe not Denny's prices, but no where near outrageous. I can't wait to go back for Happy Hour and dive into their wonderful wine menu!

as Maizie's is right in the neighborhood, we decided to give it a try, passing up our 1st choice, Pane Bianco. We should have stuck with the ever dependable Pane. I had the pineapple chicken salad on multi grain bread while my husband had what resembled a blt. I am still looking for the pineapple in the extremely dry chicken salad. my husband's was not good either. for the price we would not go back again, even the service was great and the greeter when we walked in even better.

I don't know what all the buzz is about!?! I found it to be OK at best! For the price??? Why??? Service was good. But I am there for the food and it just didn't do anything for me.

Maizies is a great addition to the Central corridor. Great Food!! Start off with the Wingless Buffalo Dip, Its to die for!! There is something about the pizza that just ROCKS!!! Big hearty salads!! Try the Krazy Cobb!!! Amazing Dressing, Made in house!! So many wonderful choices. You would think you had died and gone to heaven after you have the Chocolate Indulgence!! The wine list is extensive, Lots of specialty drinks and Beers sure to please anyone. The atmosphere has a cool vibe, the staff is friendly, and you can feel good about supporting a independently owned buisness in a sea of chain resturants. I would hope everyone would give Maizies a chance. You wont be disappointed!!! 5 STARS!!! GREAT! GREAT! GREAT!!!
