People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.

Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Whatever! It's all for fun!

Our experience at the Phoenix City Grille was absolutely terrible. First, one of the reasons my party of 6 went to the PCG was that one member of our group like Lamb Chops. Lamb Chops is listed on the internet as an entree. After sitting down, Lamb Chops is NOT an option. After speaking to the manager today on the phone, he told me "The person responsible for updating the website has been sick, and we need to take care of that." Yet, the server said they haven't had lamb chops on the menu for a while. Secondly, the service was EXTREMELY SLOW to the point, in fact, of embarrasing. While relating that aspect on the phone to the manager (he admitted remembing our party had difficulties that night), he asked "Why was the service so slow?" Now seriously, isn't that a question I should be asking him, rather than the reverse. Thirdly, the Macademia Nut Chicken came with a bone in it. After questioning that, the manager claimed it was "airline style chicken" which has a small bone in each breast and is stated as such on the menu. The menu does NOT state that fact. He also stated many restaurants serve that dish the same way. Well, we've eaten isn restaurants all over the world, and never been served a chicken breast with bone in it. Fourth, the bill came with an 18% gratuity attached. The menu does state that for a party of 6 or more, they do tack on an 18% gratuity. We understand that, and that is customary procedure amongst restaurants. However, due to the very poor service, we did not want to oblige to such a large tip, and since this was a special occasion for a member of our party...we did not put up a fuss and possibly ruin the night entirely. All in all, if you're choosing a restaurant to dine in, I would think twice about the PCG

As a local resident, I have patronized this restaurant three times in the past month based on other reviews. The atmosphere/ambience is excellent, food quality is excellent, service is satisfactory, but I felt the food portions were skimpy in relation to the prices. With gas @ $3, it's not worth the drive across town for the smaller portions.
