People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About.com Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.
Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Unless I specifically mention that I have edited a review for some reason, you see the comments posted here exactly as I received them.

S Bistro is the place for fine dining in Mesa (or anywhere else in the valley). Chef Brian is awesome ! I love to surprise my snooty Scottsdale friends by hearing them moan when they find we are going to "downtown" Mesa to dine, and then the oohs and aahs after we've eaten. Chef Brian can hang with the big boys in LA and NYC. They've got nothing on him. The food is fantastic, but the place is still cozy, casual and relaxed. Mix it with a show at MAC and you've got a big time city evening in sleepy little Mesa.

I had my description of S' Bistro in mind when I went to this web site. The review done by Marty stated my opinion exactly. The only thing I can add is that lunch is just as good as dinner.

We go to S Bistro regularly and bring friends often. Everyone is amazed. SBistro reminds us of our favorite bistros in New York City; every bit as great. The food is always amazing and Chef Brian is fun to chat with. This small, intimate and very fun Bistro should be a must visit for anyone who loves great food and a casual, but elegant atmosphere.

The last thing you should expect from a gourmet restaurant is a choice of only 3 entres on the menu on a Friday night. So no Lamb chops, Filet mignon, Ahi Tuna, instead got bland under cooked pork chops, burnt sirloin, & lunch entres. Chef Brian needs to do a much better job at meal planning before we return. It would be a shame if a quaint, tastefully decorated Down town Mesa restaurant tanks because of poor management. I guess the catering side of the business is more important to him right now.
