People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About.com Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.
Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Unless I specifically mention that I have edited a review for some reason, you see the comments posted here exactly as I received them.

(Tolleson) The food was excellent...looked healthy. First problem I thought...PRICEY ticket! No matter how you disect the menu items....you are going to spend filet mignon prices for Japanese food. 2. By the time the chef stopped playing with the food-dinner was served 45 minutes later. (he was 20 minutes late getting to the cooking table to begin with.) An hour if you factor in that time. 3. No matter how skilled and talented this chef attempted to appear....he had a serious problem controlling the smoke that he streamlined ONLY my direction.Right handed or not....if he is as good as he appeared to look he knew exactly what he was doing-looked intentional. I am NOT a former employee and I have no agenda....just the facts!

Went to the Ichiban on Central in Phoenix since my other place is closed due to the chinese new year. I got the curry chicken and it was horrible! Why is this like a stew? This is not chinese/japanese food.

(Tolleson) We have eaten there several times - for both table/menu service and teppanyaki - and this place rocks! Excellent sushi, excellent cooked menu, great teppanyaki chefs (very entertaining) and super service! We highly recommend it!

(Goodyear) UPDATE!! My first try at Ichi Ban Sushi on Litchfield rd. What can I say, Ichi Ban is the Bomb! My friend Gino and I went there for the first time on Wednesday. We liked it "a-lah"!(Jim Carey, Dumb and Dumber). In fact, I returned the very next day and ate there again. Both sushi chefs are named John, and both really know how to treat someone with a Sushi EMERGENCY! Great food, chefs, and decent price ($24.95 all-u-can-eat)! So, I suggest you don't take my word for it, but try it yourself, and see if I'm right. Cuz if I'm lyin' I'm fryin'. Chow! P.S. I don't work there, I just believe in giving kudos, where kudos are due.

(Goodyear) I haven't eaten there yet, but planning to go for lunch today. A quick note, I called to find out about prices and times, I spoke to Randy the cashier, he is obviously a sushi buff because when I asked him his opinion about the sushi, he really made me feel I was making the right choice by trying them out. Plus, he was really friendly and had no problem answering my questions even before they were officially open for business, 11:30am during the week. I will do my best to update how my first visit went. Wish me luck :-)
