Spices Mediterranean Kitchen

Reviews of Spices Mediterranean Kitchen in Chandler, Arizona

By , About.com Guide

People just have to let me know. They go to a restaurant in the greater Phoenix area, and they either loved it or hated it--there's not much in between! I created these pages so that you, the visitors to About.com Phoenix, could have your say. As for the rating, one star is the worst, five stars is the best.

Now, a word of warning--every once in a while I'll get a review from someone who has a specific agenda in mind. A really bad review might be from a disgruntled employee. A really good review might be from the owner or manager. Unless I specifically mention that I have edited a review for some reason, you see the comments posted here exactly as I received them.

Tasty, tasty, tasty food and very reasonable prices! Clean and comfortable restaurant. Relaxing and friendly. Highly recommended. Once you eat at Spices, you'll go back and take your friends with you!

The first time I walked in, I didn't expect to find my new favorite lunch spot. I love trying new food, and this place caught my eye as I was driving by. I get tired of the same routine. 'It's just one lunch' I thought to myself, so if it wasn't good, no big deal, at least i tried a new spot. Etgar, the owner, was helpful in helping me make a choice off the menu, as I was a first-timer and not entirely sure what I wanted, as it all looked appetizing. I got the chicken shawarma plate, which might be the best lunch in all of the Phoenix metro area. SO DELICIOUS. I always get the hummus as a side, with a nice warm pita. Prices are reasonable, and the food is something that you will crave and makes you want to go back for more. Very clean restaurant, great service, and the food is spectacular. Not one complaint here. If you're looking for a new place to get lunch one in a while, give Spices a try. The menu has something for everyone, and you won't be disappointed.

Hard to say what I loved most about Spices Mediteranean Kitchen in Chandler. Have eaten there several times. The humus and tomato soup are just, 'ooh so good! I can't say what is the tastiest item on menu to order. If you prefer chicken, beef or lamb, that you can order. Spiced to perfection, you will want try everything! One regret is, when we moved to Palmdale, Ca. this year, no Spices. Can't wait till we visit again and our family can eat at Spices.

My husband and I first went to Spices for a going away party for his co-worker. I normally don't do Mediterranean food, but I figured I'd just eat my normal pita with melted cheese. To my surprise there were LOTS of things on the Spices menu I really liked! Including the humus which I don't normally like or eat. This was by far the best humus I've ever eaten. I also had the beef kabobs which are to die for! Delicious! They came with some yummy rice and salad. Desert is also terrific here. They have a kids menu so we will definitely go back for more and next time bring the kids! They must call this place Spices because the spices on the food really made all the difference. Its a must try dinning experience.

I have eaten at this quaint family owned restaurant twice a week since they opened in June of 2007. I have tried everything on the menu from the Rolled Baklava with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream dessert to the Lamb Shish Kabob entree and they're all great. They have the best Greek Salad in the valley and Chef Aaron prepares the entrees to perfection every time. Its a clean friendly place to bring my friends and family to eat with nice outdoor dining area.

I visited Spices Mediterranean Kitchen last night for the first time. I had been told by a friend that they had the best hummus she'd ever tasted, so I walked in expecting great food. I have to agree she was right. The tomato soup makes it worth the trip by itself. There was also a singer who gave the restaurant a great vibe the whole time I was there. Apparently she's there on Fridays. I recommend Spices to anyone who likes Mediterranean food at a casual, fun place.
