tubers are pigs
- When the water level drops, all you see is beer cans and garbage everywhere you look. Shame Shame on drunk, irresponsible and piggish people for not being more careful with their crap and shame on Salt River Recreation for not doing more to clean up the river bottom in the middle of winter when the river is low. I hope the National Park Service closes the area as a Superfund site, with the way it looks. I guess for all our society's Green speak, it really is only Lip Service if the average citizen can't float without leaving something behind.

Salt River Tubing Pros
- My boyfriend & I have been tubing for about 6yrs now & we take a run down the Salt River about 4-5 times a yrs at least. Most of our friends & family are now hooked so we usually end up with a large group every time we go. We never go during the holiday weekend any more though. We enjoy the large crowds cause u know "the more the merrier" but during the holiday weekends the more seem to become the stupid! I wouldnt take small children at all, river swimming is not the same as pool swimming. Besides avoiding the holiday crowds my main advice would be this: drink LOTS of water weither your drinking alcohol or not, lather on the sunscreen everywhere & often(30spf every 30min,50spf every 50mins,etc),invest in a sturdy oar to help manuaver away from trees, rocks & out of whirl pools & last but not least if you are fair skinned it's ok to tube in thin leggings, long sleeve tshirt & a very wide brim hat to protect ourself instead of a bikini.

I Highly Recommend Tubing
- I have been going to the river for the past ten years, and I keep going back at LEAST once every summer, but usually a lot more. It is a blast to go with family (weekdays, for underage kids) or with friends (weekends, holidays, 21+) because it really is just one big party. Highly recommended

salt river
- I went on the Salt Rover 2009. I was wonderous. If you love large people in bading suits, you will not like the river, it has sexy motha fers and they love to drink. Please no children alllowed scorpions run about. The most tumulchuous is the water scorpion. For it lurks among the sun bathers. Please, I beg of you, no children. On a brighter note the alchohol runs a plenty. Do enjoy to scenery, for it is entoxicating in its own right. cheers.

Fun fun fun
- I'm from Utah. My girlfriend and I were visiting family from Phoenix, in July and they wanted to take us tubing the Salt river. We rented tubes, took the shuttle, and had a blast. I absolutely recommend it. It was one of the most crazy, wonderful, exciting days ever. In Utah, they would ban it immediately. Sorry too much fun, we can't be having that now. I would do it again in a second. I think camping on the river with a group of buddies would be a blast, but going to pheonix in July, on purpose, is pretty crazy. it makes a 100 degrees in Utah look frigid. Still, try it if you get the chance. Fun, fun, fun.

TUBING!!!
- I love Salt River Tubing. I just went for my third time last week (first time this season) and had a terrific time! I took a friend of mine that was visiting from Denver. I'm blessed with a job where I only work weekends so my trips are usually on the weekdays when it's not so crowded.

be prepared!
- If you are reading this you are probably doing research before you head out which is good! My friend and I went tubing and she was totally wasted within an hour. She got a mean sunburn - one you wouldn't even want to look at! and she was sick for a few DAYS. That was from the heat mixed with the liquor. I don't drink at all when I go tubing anymore - its much more fun and watchout for those rocks!!! Try using a long and tough stick to maneuver.

Salt River Tubing
- I really had a terrific time on the river but I have to warn parents of younger children to stay away on the weekends. It was super crowded on the Sunday we went last August and many of the college age folks got really drunk, loud, and vulgar. I was also unaware of the rocks under the water until I was carried over them by the force of the water. I was not able to pull myself up higher onto the tube in time and scraped my lower back and butt on the rocks. I was not the only one that this happened to by the way. I was in pain for a few days but, overall, it really was a lot of fun.
